2025 Bussin’ Ceremony

Tuesday night saw the Selkirk Merchant Company Bussin’ take place in the Victoria Halls. Master Falconer Grieve chaired the event which saw Lady Busser Norma Graham invest Merchant Company Standard Bearer Rob Gray with his Sash of office before Bussin’ the Company flag with their ribbon.
The entertaining Toast to the Merchant Company Standard Bearer was given by John Nichol with Standard Bearer Gray replying in equally entertaining and heartfelt style.
Master Falconer Greive introduced Royal Burgh Standard Bearer Darren Knox who replied in his usual fine manner. The Toast to Selkirk Merchant Company and the Royal and Ancient Burgh was given by writer and broadcaster Fiona Armstrong who gave a rousing speech celebrating the history and traditions of the Company and the town. Hon Provost Rodney Pow replied. 2024 Merchant Company Standard Bearer Elliot Henderson gave the Vote of Thanks.
Entertainers for the evening were Tommy Knox and Jimmy Gibb with a first time appearance by Imogen Hoppé, piano accompaniment was provided by  Ann Witherington. All attending were in agreement that a very evening was had by everyone.
The Master urges all members to turn out on Friday morning to give Standard Bearer Gray a gid followin’ o’er The Green. The Company joins the procession at 7.00 at the County Hotel and members may join or leave the procession at any time.
